Filed appeal for SC injury round 1 begins

0 votes
My ankle specialist ordered a MRI of my ankle. After reading the MRI and the radiologist report, he wrote a letter stating due to the nature of ,y injury I would definitely need a Fusion surgery.

I sent that along with surgical report stating all the bone chips that had to removed from my ankle. The surgeon stated the ligaments tore away from to bone with such force it tore some of the away also. That was the bone chips he removed.

The VA rated me at 10% for sprained ankle as it is stated in my medical records. But they didn't take into account I was in a remote location where all we had was a medic with no X-Ray machine or other testing equipment.

So I have to wait.. I suspect they will turn it down and I'll appeal again.

Any thoughts on this matter?

I am sorry to hear that not all of your information is being taken into account. I am sure that you are doing this already, but please be sure that you know what is in your medical records and that they are receiving all the information that you can possibly give them. And of course, appeal any time you feel that you are not getting what you need.

Have you considered contacting the VFW in your area and getting help with your claim and appeal or appeals? They gave a program called National Veterans Service that may be able to help you navigate this.
